Critical Care

Dr. Jeff Simmons was born and raised in south Mississippi, the land of hurricanes and sweet tea.
He obtained his DVM from Mississippi State University in 2000.  Following two years of mixed animal practice in north Alabama, he completed his residency in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Auburn University.  His was retained as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Auburn for another year and then moved on to Purdue University, also as a Clinical Assistant Professor.  During these two years he spent his time teaching students, managing the ICU, training interns/residents, and presenting CE around the country.  With his pack of dogs and pride of domestic lions in tow, he moved to Denver to work as the Emergency Medicine Coordinator and Criticalist in a private referral hospital.  He has recently seen the light and moved to the better side of the Rockies.  Being from the south, his current interests include all the winter sports such as ice hockey, skiing, snowboarding, and shovelling snow.  He also enjoys hiking, camping, and any competitive sport he can still play.
